DOHA: All shops in Dragon Mart are expected to be open before Eid Al Adha according to officials of the Chinese retailer.
Marketing Manager Yang told Al Sharq that 80 percent of shops were open. The mart at Barwa Commercial Avenue in the Industrial Area had announced its opening in July.
Clothes, furniture, electronic goods, glassware, sport equipment and other household items will be offered by Chinese shops. Spread across 21,000 square meters, the mart houses about 280 shops and stalls. Yang said around 100,000 people are expected to visit the mart every month.
He said availability of household and other items under one roof and at cheaper rates will be a major attraction for customers. He said the management is preparing to open remaining shops which include seven eateries.
The mart will organise seasonal shopping festivals showcase only Chinese products and will play a crucial role in increasing commercial and tourist activities in Qatar as it has earned popularity in the GCC, said Yang.
Jim, Lease Officer, said all shops have been sold out. The mart is expected to transform Barwa Commercial Avenue into a major commercial landmark in Qatar. It will also attract tourist from other GCC countries.
He said parking facility in the mart is very good with many entrances and exits.
