DOHA: Qatar has condemned human rights violations in Iraq, including killings, war crimes, crimes against humanity, forced displacement and deprivation of the Iraqi people of their right to freedom and dignity.
This came in a speech Faisal bin Abdullah Al Henzab, Permanent Representative of Qatar to UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva before the 22nd session of Human Rights Council on the situation of human rights in Iraq in the light of violations committed by Islamic State and associated groups.
He said Qatar denounces all ideas and acts committed by extremist groups and militia, adding that such acts are incompatible with Islam, human values and ethics and international laws and norms. He warned that violence would threaten Iraq’s territorial integrity, stability and security, and regional peace and stability.
