TOKYO: Finance ministers from the Group of Eight nations will meet in Tokyo next week on how to deal with rising social problems in the Middle East.
Finance officials from regional countries including Saudi Arabia will join discussions on creating a fund to stimulate business and increase jobs in Arab nations, according to Japan's (NHK WORLD) website.
The G8 ministers have already given their backing to the "Arab Spring" democracy movements that started in Middle East countries such as Tunisia and Egypt. They agreed to provide support at a meeting last year in Deauville, France.
They're now turning their attention to issues like low youth employment, which is seen as one factor contributing to rising social turmoil.
The meeting is set for Friday next week on the sidelines of the annual gatherings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. (QNA)
