Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday temporarily closed the street connecting Civil Defence Roundabout to Wadi Al Sail Roundabout in both directions.
The closure will last two weeks to widen the street to three lanes in each direction and three lanes to turn left for drivers coming from the Civil Defence Roundabout and going towards Ludaihi Roundabout.
Work also includes the installation of service ducts and irrigation and rainwater drainage networks. “This closure is important to allow work to complete in 15 days and avoid traffic diversion for a longer period, which can be caused by phasing of the project,” Ashghal said.
Drivers will be able to use the Istiqlal Street parallel to the Corniche Street, which goes through the Civil Defence Roundabout towards Qatar Club.
