Week-long Eid festival starts from Saturday

DOHA: Major shopping malls in Qatar will come alive with a variety of shows and activities starting this Saturday, the first day of Eid Al Adha. Organised under Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), ‘Eid Celebrations in Qatar’ will see activities and shows at major malls starting at 4pm for a full week.
Lagoona mall will kick off with Dora’s Ballet Adventures between 4pm and 4.30pm, followed by face painting and a 15-minute freestyle football. Dora’s Ballet Adventures return at 7.30pm to be followed by the traditional Arda dance. Fritters show will start at 8.15pm and face painting at 9pm. The programme will conclude with a third showing of Dora’s Ballet Adventures show.
First day activities at Hyatt Plaza start with Shaun the Sheep at 4pm, followed by Tannoura dance, and Oriental Parade. After which Shaun the Sheep and Oriental Parade will be shown again. These will be followed by football freestyle, face painting, and finally Shawn the Sheep.
At City Center mall, the activities will start with Adventure Time, followed by face painting and Steve Kaos. The activities will be done alternately and Tannoura dance will also be performed.
Activities at Landmark mall will start at 4pm with the Bubblez and Balloonz show followed by face painting and Dan Druff Circus show. The Mall’s Eid activities will begin with a 15-minute Dan Druff Circus show followed by face painting and Potato Head to be held alternately with the last show at 9.15pm.
At Al Khor Mall, the first day begins with a 15-minute speed painting show followed by face painting, a 20-minute Sweets for Kids show, face painting, and speed painting. The Heritage Village and Al Bida Park will host various Eid activities from 5pm until 12 midnight. Entry will be free.
From October 5 to 10, Souq Waqif will organise free-of-charge Eid activities between 4pm and 9pm. Free-of-charge activities will also be held at The Pearl Qatar from October 4 to 6 from 6pm to 10pm.
Katara will offer three shows of Dreams on Ice from October 4 to November 30. From October 4 to 7, Katara will also host Qatari play Abu Salama, Big Bang show and fireworks display. Tickets for the play are free and can be booked at the Katara website. Big Bang shows will be held at 7.30pm, 9.30pm and 10pm, followed by fireworks display at 11pm.
