Ashghal, MoI announce multiple temporary road closures across Qatar

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) have announced a series of temporary road closures across Doha and surrounding areas to facilitate ongoing maintenance and infrastructure works.

According to the MoI, Corniche Street will see a full closure from the Old Doha Port Intersection to the East Intersection (Ras Abu Aboud) in both directions starting from Thursday, October 2, at 10 pm until Sunday, October 5, at 5am. 

In addition, the Al Rumeilah Intersection on Corniche Street will witness a partial closure at the free right-turn lane for vehicles traveling from the Qatar National Theatre Intersection towards Al Rumeilah Street, effective from Friday, October 3 at 2am until Saturday, October 4 at 12am.

Authorities also confirmed a repeated nightly closure on Corniche Street, affecting traffic from Al Dakhira Road (eastbound) towards Al Ghawas Street, daily from 12 midnight to 5 am, continuing until October 5, 2025.

Meanwhile, Ashghal announced additional temporary closures in other parts of the country. 

These include the U-turn Service Road near Al Gassar Intersection for traffic heading from Lusail towards The Pearl Qatar, with closures taking effect from Friday,

October 3 (2am – 10am) and Saturday, October 4 (2am – 7am) to complete road maintenance works.

Furthermore, a temporary full closure of the U-turn lanes near Jassim bin Hamad Stadium has been scheduled for traffic heading towards Al Jazeera Al Arabiya Street. 

This will run from Saturday, October 4, until Monday, October 6, 2025, between 12am and 5am, to allow for the unloading of equipment and diesel generators.

Ashghal also announced a partial closure of the underpasses on Rawdat Al Khail Road in the Al Thumama area (E Ring Road). 

This closure will be in effect from October 4 to October 11, 2025, daily from 12am to 5am, to carry out quarterly maintenance of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), ELV systems, fire-fighting equipment, and lighting systems.

The MoI and Ashghal have urged motorists to follow directional signs, use alternative routes, and comply with traffic regulations to ensure smoother traffic flow and the safety of all road users during the maintenance period.
