Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have sent cables of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on the victims of a fuel truck explosion that occurred in Riyadh yesterday.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has also sent a similar cable to the Saudi King.

Algeria’s National Day marks the beginning of the successful revolution against the French.

DOHA: The meetings of the Arab Police Sports Federation and the Executive Office will start at Marriot hotel today. The meetings will continue until November 6.
The general assembly will be attended by 18 Arab Police Sports Federations. The meeting of the executive office will be held before the general assembly and will take many decisions related to programmes and activities of the next session for putting it in front of the general assembly for approval, said Brig Khalid Hamad Al Attiyah, Chairman of the Arab and Qatar Police Sports Federations.
The meeting of the executive office will look to the reports of various committees under the Federation and will discuss the budget and the suggestions and ideas submitted by members as well. The new president of the Federation and executive office for the year 2012-2016 will also be elected, he added.
