Thousands of people flocked to the Museum of Islamic Art Park to see 35 hand-built flying machines dive into the water at the first-ever Qatar edition of Red Bull Flugtag yesterday. Applying the laws of aerodynamics, the teams made outrageous aircraft. Their inspirations were wide-ranging: from camels and falcons to Batman, Iron Man, pizza and tennis. People laughed, screamed and applauded as they watched members of each team put up a one-minute entertainment show before plunging into the water aboard their flying machines.
