Tourists offer fruits to elephants before starting the first elephant ride of the tourist season at Kaziranga National Park, about 230km from Guwahati, yesterday. The park shelters 15 species of threatened mammals, including one-horned rhinoceros, wild water buffaloes and Royal Bengal tigers.
