Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have sent cables of congratulations to the President of Romania, Traian Basescu, on the occasion of his country’s National Day yesterday.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has also sent a similar cable to the President of Romania.
Great Union Day is the national holiday of Romania commemorating the assembly of the delegates of ethnic Romanians held in Alba Iulia, which declared the Union of Transylvania with Romania. QNA
