DOHA: Sixteen officers from various departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) are currently participating in two 12-day training courses conducted the Police Training Institute (PTI).
One of the courses, organised in association with Department of Human Resources and Fairfax County Police, US, and led by American trainer Christopher Slowinksi, covers various topics on how to tackle organized crime, the MoI said.
The training programme includes workshops and cases studies to teach participants on how to deal with organised crime networks, their funding, investigation procedures and methods to control them.
The other course, organised in collaboration with College of Policing, UK, is focused on boosting job skills of airport cadres on how to deal with the public.
This course, led by British trainers Paul Rose and Robert Score, for airport reception staff imparts rudimentary skills on communicating with public and handling people with different temperaments and predicting their behavioural pattern.
The courses are part of the annual training plan for the year 2013-2014 as per Qatar National Vision 2030 to raise the capabilities of the employees of the ministry, the MoI said. (QNA)
