DOHA: Vodafone Qatar is gearing up for the ITU Telecom World 2014 to be held from December 7 to 10 at Qatar National Convention Centre.
The company will address smart cities solutions and debate related trends with industry experts from around the world to share perspectives on the future of the information and communication technologies industry.
In line with its focus on Internet of Things (IoT) and unleashing the power of smart connectivity to improve life and business, Vodafone will display its M2M technologies already being used locally and globally.
Among such technologies are integrated healthcare solutions, solar panel energy monitoring and others.
Vodafone will also unveil the latest innovation never launched locally before.
It will be represented December 10 by George Galica, Head, Managed Services, who will sit on the IoT panel, moderated by Charles Brookson, Director, Azenby, United Kingdom.
IoT promises us a connected world, with energy savings, medical implants and monitoring smart cities and intelligent transport. It can also be used to monitor individuals, and groups and to disrupt or attack infrastructure.
The panel will look at these challenges, and if these threats are real, and discuss what we should do to defend ourselves.
Under the central theme of ‘Future in Focus’ the forum will explore how disruptive developments in technology, business and society are transforming the ICT industry – and examines potential scenarios of the future.
Vodafone Qatar joined ITU earlier this year as a sector member in ITU’s Telecommunication Standardisation Sector (ITU-T), which brings together experts from around the world to develop standards and protocols for the global ICT industry.
