Doha: The Shura Council participated yesterday in a virtual international parliamentary symposium on disarmament, organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), in cooperation with the Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament network (PNND), World Future Council (WFC) and Youth Inclusion Network (YIN).
In the symposium, the Shura Council was represented by Member of Council H E Mohammed bin Fahad Al Musallam. The symposium addressed the importance and role of parliamentary work to ensure equal participation of both genders, sustainability in disarmament initiatives, and the role of women’s leadership in this field.
