Amal Krishna, a Grade 6 student of MES Indian School won the championship in the 22nd UCMAS Abacus & Mental Arithmetic International competition held in Malaysia recently.
More than 2,000 contestants from over 75 countries participated in the competition in different categories. Amal Krishna, with his exceptional speed and amazing mental precision emerged as the overall champion in the Higher-A level category.
He was awarded with a trophy and a certificate for his phenomenal accomplishment at the international level. UCMAS centers of each country organise annual Regional Level, State Level or National Level competitions.
Winners of these competitions would then proceed to compete against other champions around the world in the UCMAS International Competition, held annually in Malaysia.
Amal Krishna also won the championship in category E in the UCMAS abacus competition held in Dubai last year.
