Doha: The inaugural edition of the Adastra Cup Football Tournament will conclude on Friday at the Al Jazeera Academy grounds, organisers have announced.
Tournament organisers have also confirmed that Indian football legend IM Vijayan will attend the final day matches as the chief guest.
In line with Qatar's sporting objectives, the tournament was conceived by Adastra WLL as a way to promote sports and healthy living among the engineers and technicans of their client firms. Eight teams were invited to participate and were split across two groups of four teams each.
This year's tournament involves the following eight teams: Ishield WLL, Al Jaber Engineering, Structurel Qatar, Trust, GWC, AEB, Abantia Tempo LLC and Spikers FC- QTA.
After the initial group stage matches on December 28, the Adastra Cup is now set to enter its final lap on January 4, which will see the last four group games, the semi-finals and the grand final.
