Doha:  London Olympic Games bronze medallist Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah will lead the host nation’s challenge at the Qatar Open Shotgun Championship which will begin from February 5 at the Losail Shooting Complex.

The eight-day championship will be contested by shooters from 26 countries, informed Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation (QSRF) officials here yesterday.

Shooters from Algeria,  Australia, Russia, Finland, France Germany, United Kingdom, China, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait,  Lebanon, Norway, Oman, Qatar,  Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland,  Thailand, Turkey and United Arab Emirates will be taking part in the championship.

Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghanim Maadheed, President of QSRF, said that all arrangements have been completed for the successful conduct of the event.

“The hosting of a high level technical championship will benefit our  young Qatari shooters who will gain experience. Most of the world top shooters will be in Qatar for the event and hopefully our young shooters will pick up a trick or two from them” said Maadheed.

Ali Mohammed AlSheikh Al Kuwari is the Chairman of the Organising Committee Championship.
