DOHA: The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has begun its global search for outstanding young learners from diverse backgrounds and disciplines for the 2014-15 Learners’ Voice programme.
Until June 1, WISE is accepting nominations and applications from young people who will join over 100 students and graduates of the Learners’ Voice community. This year, some 30 learners will be selected to participate in the growing global initiative.
WISE Learners’ Voice provides a global platform for young people to become involved in crucial debates on education.
The programme builds their communication, entrepreneurship and leadership skills to ensure that decision-makers hear their views and that they are equipped to take on leading roles in the world of education and in their own fields.
The programme is based on the belief that when students are co-creators of their learning environments, they become active participants, investing collectively as stakeholders.
Students or recent graduates can be nominated by representatives of institutions, organisations, programmes and networks from around the world.
Students can also apply personally for the programme by submitting an application form endorsed by two referees.
Applicants and nominees must be between 18 and 25 years as of November 2, 2014.
