DOHA: Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) concluded its strategic site visits to quarries and crushers owned or operated by Qatari private companies in the UAE to ensure that only the desired quality of aggregate (primary materials such as Gabbro) enter the local market.
Qatari private companies who own these facilities in the UAE have hailed the strategic role QPMC has recently adopted such as launching strategic site visits, a business-to-business trip designed to oversee and ensure that the quality of the aggregates QPMC has procured from receives all the testing requirements and inspection at all points throughout the aggregate supply chain.
This mechanism comes in parallel with QPMC’s established vision aimed at ensuring that the quality-grades of all the primary materials QPMC has secured, via supply agreements from the Emirates of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, meet and match the increasing high quality demand on primary materials amidst the thriving construction sector in Qatar.
Al Hammadi, QPMC’s CEO, said: “QPMC has partnered with key private Qatari companies that are strongly committed to QPMC’s mission and pledge to participate in the ever-growing local construction sector. The field concurrently works with QPMC’s mission of aiding in the development of construction projects as per Qatar’s National Vision 2030.”
In view of this applauded vision that stems from the terms of QPMC’s strategic leadership goals, Qatari private companies who own and operate quarries and crushers in the UAE have pledged to abide by QPMC’s framework and have vowed accordingly to deliver high-quality primary materials at the forefront of QPMC’s pivotal milestones aimed at ensuring that the construction sector in the state of Qatar continues to progress and thrive, according to, and in alignment with Qatar’s sustainable development strategy at the forefront of Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and its National Development Strategy.”
The QPMC delegation comprising of 15 members was headed by Eisa Al Hammadi, QPMC CEO and led thorough inspections raising high-end conformity reports overseeing quarries which QPMC has recently procured from and simultaneously held high-end meetings to ensure that the high-quality aggregates it has secured meet and match the Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
The business-to-business trip which lasted from March 14 to 17 was designed to ensure that the grades of all aggregates and primary materials supplied to QPMC match the QCS standards.
Experts from the newly appointed Qatari owned quality assurance company, FirstLab, accompanied QPMC’s delegation throughout the Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah inspection trip to ensure that QPMC’s demand for high quality aggregates is met while focusing on overseeing that the delivery of the aggregate, quality assurance scheme and traceability and testing are all conducted at all points in the aggregated supply chain up to the final acceptance in Qatar.
During the port visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Port of Fujairah General Manager Captain Mousa Murad and Al Hammadi (of QPMC) to ensure mutual cooperation and benefits that come from the exchange of expertise with regards to high quality aggregate, supply chain, and technical consultations. The memorandum of understanding successfully reflected both parties’ beliefs in transparency, reliability and efficiency.
QPMC also organised a workshop conducted by FirstLab that shed light on the significance of developing scientific research of raw materials. Research can potentially advance the process of gabbro production to ensure a continuous flow of high quality aggregate to Qatar. The Peninsula
