Msheireb Downtown Doha, the smartest and most sustainable fully-built city district in the world, will be home to the first Monoprix in Qatar with the Smart Retail Solution.
Msheireb Properties, the developer of Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), and Ali Bin Ali Holding, owner of the Monoprix franchise in the country, signed an agreement on Monday to open Monoprix in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
The signing was also attended by Sébastien Farhat, the Regional General Manager of Monoprix.

To be situated at the soon-to-open Galleria mall, Monoprix will launch for the first time in the region one of the most advanced retail software solutions for an enhanced customer service. In addition to this, the store will provide its famous Concierge and the Shop & Go concepts.
“Monoprix store is expected to open in Msheireb Downtown Doha in December. The store will promote Qatari products,” Farhat told The Peninsula on the sidelines of a press conference held after agreement signing ceremony held at Msheireb Downtown Doha. However, he did not reveal much about the smart features of the store.
Monoprix Msheireb will offer an extensive organic range of 12,000 items sourced internationally, as well as a new dine-in Qatari-food concept, sushi bar and pasta & pizza corner. The hypermarket will continue to support local initiatives and stock all local Qatari made products.
Commenting on this strategic agreement, Ali Al Kuwari, Acting CEO of Msheireb Properties, said, “Since its inception, Msheireb Downtown Doha is set to revive the city centre of Doha in the smartest and most sustainable way. We are proud that we have succeeded to work with local and international partners to ensure that all the services provided across the city centre development are in alignment with our promise to our residents and visitors,” he added.

Founded in 1932, Monoprix, the French retail chain currently has two other stores in Qatar – West Bay and Doha Festival City.
