Doha: The Association of Syrian Engineers in Qatar elected its new board of directors at the conclusion of its annual conference, which was held recently at Retaj Salwa Resort.
This came in the presence of Saad Baroud, First Secretary at the Syrian Embassy in Doha; Abdel Salam Fayyad, Head of the Syrian Community; Dr. Khalid Al Nasr, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Qatar Society of Engineers, heads and representatives of professional associations.
Eng Ammar Mamoun Hammouda has been elected as president, and six members of the new board of directors are Hamza Al Othman, Khalid Aqil, Zaher Al Homsi, Imad Al Din Al Shamaa, Majid Al Qarh, Muhammad Qara Hadid.
The conference also reviewed the achievements of the association over the course of the previous session, which included many pioneering initiatives and qualitative projects such as designing and launching the Association’s website in its new form and designing app.
The new visual identity of the association was also launched, which was designed in a modern way, keeping pace with the latest features of international logos. Then, some of the members reviewed the remarkable success stories that the association contributed actively to building and facilitating them. Then, two discussion sessions were held that brought together the chairmen of the council committees to discuss what had been achieved.
On the sidelines of the conference, some accompanying cultural events and activities were held, such as an art exhibition for plastic arts, and an exhibition for photography, with the participation of artists from the association’s members.
Eng Muhammad Azmy Tawakkol, President of the Association of Syrian Engineers in Qatar, expressed his happiness with the achievements, successes and initiatives achieved during the previous session of the association.
He noted the great efforts made by the association in order to raise the scientific and professional level of the resident Syrian engineer and enhance his presence in various scientific, cultural, social and sports activities.
Eng Ammar Mamoun Hammouda, President of the newly elected boards of directors of the Association of Syrian Engineers in Qatar, expressed his happiness that the association presents a practical example and ability of Syrians to engage in organised collective work.
He praised the achievements made during the previous session of the association and its relentless endeavour to raise the professional and practical level of the association.
