Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic announced the schedule for the 14th electronic auction of special numbers. In an announcement, the Ministry stated that the auction will be held from April 4 at 10am until April 6, 2023 at 12pm.
The Ministry stated that the special number plates in the auction will be grouped into two categories with separate security deposits for both. The security deposit for the first group amounts to QR10,000 and QR5,000 for the second group.
The starting price for some of the numbers such as 877777 and 889888 is set at QAR 200,000, while auction for numbers such as 320320 and 304040 start at QAR 50,000. All the special numbers can be viewed here.

Furthermore, the Ministry also indicated that in case that a bargaining occurs in the last quarter-hour, the time will be extended for another quarter-hour for the auctioned number only. The process will be continued until the final quarter-hour of the last auction, the Ministry stated.
The Ministry also noted that the person who wins the auction or the bidder with the highest amount must contact the General Directorate of Traffic within a maximum of four working days. Should the bidder withdraw from payment, the security deposit will be forfeited.
If a bidder wins more than one special number, none of them will be granted until the payment is completed for all the special numbers won.
Payment can be done through credit card or by cheque issued in favour of (Special Numbers).
"If the bidder of the highest amount for a specific number number would like to bid for another number in the same category, he shall pay an additional security deposit," the Ministry stated.
