DOHA: The Qatar-Sudan Archaeological Project (QSAP) joint committee launched its new website at the Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) headquarters on Thursday.
The new website covers the activities of about 40 archaeological missions working in the Northern State and the Nile State of Sudan.
Covering various aspects of archaeological research work in Sudan and Sudanese heritage, the website includes sections highlighting the museums in Sudan, the archaeological sites and the history of the country in both English and Arabic. It targets the general public as well as students conducting research on Sudanese archaeology and heritage.
Affiliated with QMA; the QSAP includes excavation and restoration work, as well as preservation of Sudan’s archeological heritage, in addition to training sessions by international archeology professionals for young archaeologists in Sudan and Qatar.
QSAP has also launched a programme of training tour guides in Sudan in affiliation with The Ministry of Tourism Antiquities and Wild Life and The National Corporation of Antiquities and Museums.
The website is designed by the QMA IT Department and the Qatar Sudan Archaeological Project team. The website URL is: www.qsap.qa, www.qsap.org.qa.
