Doha: The State of Qatar participated yesterday in a virtual ministerial session on the humanitarian situation in the Republic of Sudan, which was organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.
Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari chaired the State of Qatar’s delegation at the meeting.
Dr. Al Kuwari affirmed Qatar’s keenness to support international efforts, including those of WHO, and all that would alleviate the suffering of civilians, and provide a rapid response to the growing humanitarian situation in Sudan, including needs in the health field.
During the session, options for mobilising support from all over the region for the Sudanese people were discussed, while the latest developments were reviewed, as well as WHO’s response to the crisis to mitigate the effects of this crisis on civilians.
