Total holds diabetes awareness camp for staff

Doha: Total recently held a diabetes risk awareness and assessment event for its employees to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Staff took blood tests and were consulted by specialists from Qatar Diabetes Association.
The specialists also spoke about preventive measures and engaged employees in discussion to better understand about the illness. A healthy corner was set up in the canteen where employees were informed about their calorie intake and how much they actually need. The event was part of Total’s ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ campaign which focuses on personal diet to prevent illnesses. 
“The event emphasises the seriousness of diabetes and awareness must start with oneself,”  said Andi Suliono, Head of Environment and Health, Total E&P Qatar. 
“Many people are living with diabetes without being aware of it. 
“Several habits in our lifestyle today may have contributed to our exposure to diabetes,” Suliono added.The Peninsula
