LONDON: Qatar feel confident going into their friendly against Scotland, team coach Jose Daniel Carreno said yesterday.
On Sunday, Qatar held Ireland to a 1-1 draw on a difficult pitch in London, according Carreno.
Qatar are preparing for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches set to kick off later this month.
“I think we got what we were looking from the game against Ireland,” Carreno said yesterday.
Scotland host Qatar on June 5 while the visitors will reach Glasgow a day earlier, team officials said yesterday.
“The pitch was quite rough. It wasn’t the best surface to play football on,” Carreno said.
“We defended well in the first half and found good rhythm in our moves in the second half. We even dominated play in patches which was good,” Carreno added.
