As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility, Electromec Technical Associates, business associates of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, carried out an awareness programme that covered the primary students of Middle East International School, Qatar.
Creating awareness among children towards safe usage of elevators and escalators has been the aim of this initiative. This exposure for the children is aimed at crafting a complete generation of children who shall emerge to be the ‘Safety ambassadors’ of the future.
The awareness programme was well received by the students. The presentation included a series of video presentations followed by interactive sessions by ETA-Melco engineers. Illustrative hand-outs were distributed to the children as a reminder and to share the safety awareness procedures with their parents and guardians.
Following positive feedbacks from the school management and the Principal Dr John Ramos of Middle East International School, ETA Melco has decided to take the ‘Safe Rider’ initiative forward to other schools in the region as well, to benefit more and more children.
