Doha: The Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, last week organised the Charismatic Communication and Interaction with People Workshop.
University and high school students and young workers and employees took part in the two-day event held at Mِovenpick Tower Hotel in Doha.
Charisma is a high level of attractiveness, overwhelming presence and ability to influence people positively, which some people have. Despite the difficulty of finding a comprehensively accurate definition, this personal quality can be associated with a certain type of personalities, and allows some people to have extraordinary abilities to lead, convince and captivate others. Charismatic persons also have the ability to inspire others and exceptionally attract their attention.
Seeking to help the younger generation refine their personalities and enhance their abilities and skills in dealing with others, Qatari human development trainer Mohammed Haidar addressed a number of issues during the workshop, including how to develop a charismatic and authentic character, communicate with people and influence them, qualities of a charismatic personality, how to deal with different types of characters and how to build trust with other people.
“I always look forward to working with Bedaya Center. I am a strong believer in their mission, which aims at empowering young people by offering them the chance to develop their skills and personality and become active, influential leaders in all their fields of activity. This is entirely in step with my constant passion of helping younger generations and enabling them to make a positive impact in society,” said Haidar.
Majed Fathallah, Career Development Manager at Bedaya Center, said: “The incentive behind the workshop is the critical need to train young people in effective communication skills and the mechanisms of building relationships with others, which is one of the highly demanded skills in the Qatari labour market. The workshop is also part of Bedaya Center’s mission towards finding and building leadership personalities to guide the future of Qatar.”
Haifa Al Malki, a participant in the workshop, pointed out that Bedaya Center offered considerable help in her professional life through continual advice and guidance in terms of her career and skills development.
“I had heard about Bedaya Center’s workshops and training courses to help and encourage Qatari youth. This motivated me to enquire about the workshops and later participate in them, and while at the Center I made a few visits to Bedaya’s Career Counselling service and it helped me shape my future career; I have made great decisions with their help. The most valuable thing I learned was how our own values control our choices and behaviour. I gained insight into managing my values to my benefit. The workshop added so much to my experience,” said Al Malki.
