Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has received a donation of QR250,000 from LuLu Hypermarket Qatar as a contribution to QC’s projects through the ‘Shop & Donate’ drive launched by LuLu Hypermarket Qatar during the holy month of Ramadan.
It comes in support of QC’s ‘Ramadan, the Gift of Giving’ campaign. QC received a cheque of QR250,000 from Shaijan M O, Regional Director of LuLu Hypermarket Qatar, in the presence of Shanavas P M, Regional Manager, and other officials from Lulu and QC. QC thanked LuLu for its contribution, acknowledging its effort during holy Ramadan in collecting donations through its “Shop & Donate” campaign.
QC also hoped that other companies would follow LuLu in doing good and supporting charity projects. QC appreciated LuLu’s support, noting that the support was a “sincere demonstration of how to promote humanitarian activities, which positively reflect the company’s success in various fields.”
“In co-operation with QC, LuLu is looking forward to playing an important role on the social responsibility programme,” said Shaijan, adding that the ‘Shop & Donate’ campaign raised QR250,000. He stressed that LuLu would continue its support for charitable projects and carry on humanitarian work along with QC.
QC has previously signed several agreements with LuLu. The first allows customers to donate riyal and dirham fractions when paying purchase bills at various LuLu Hypermarket outlets, in order to support charitable projects within and outside Qatar. The second agreement promotes QC’s Khair Cards through LuLu’s outlets to promote charity among shoppers, while the third agreement involves a co-operation for the ‘Shop & Donate’ campaign.
