Singapore: Minister of Labour HE Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri today held a series of meetings with senior officials from Singapore's Ministry of Manpower responsible for employment, national policies and regulatory frameworks, workforce training and skills development, and social protection.
The meetings reviewed the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore in the labour sector and explored ways to strengthen and expand it. The discussions also covered the Memorandum of Understanding on labour cooperation signed between the two countries and examined mechanisms for its effective implementation in support of enhanced bilateral cooperation.
Separately, HE Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri paid a site visit today to Certis Group, one of the Asia-Pacific region's leading companies specialising in integrated security services, facilities management, and technology solutions. Established in 1958 as the Singapore Police Force's Guard and Escort Unit, the organisation was subsequently transformed into a commercial enterprise wholly owned by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund.
During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on Singapore's experience in regulating and managing the workforce in the security services sector. He also explored opportunities to benefit from the company's expertise in developing and training human capital and enhancing professional skills within the sector. In addition, the visit included discussions on the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in security operations management to improve operational efficiency, as well as opportunities for the exchange of expertise in safety and security, facilities management, and support services.
