Qatar has some beautiful mosques that boast breathtaking architecture, which inspires the many faithful thronging them for prayers, especially during Ramadan.

One of the most popular mosques in the country is the Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab Mosque, popularly known as State Mosque, which opened its doors two years ago.

It is the biggest mosque in Qatar and the fifth biggest in the world. With a total land area of 175,000 square metres and a built up area of 19,550 square metres on three levels, the mosque can accommodate over 22,000 worshippers.

The mosque, based on traditional Qatari architecture, is popular not only for its sheer size but also its aesthetics.
