Logo for first two Srilankan radio stations in Qatar launched

Doha: The Charge de Affaires at Srilankan Embassy in Qatar H E Ratnasingam Kohularangan released the logos of two Srilankan FM radios, QFM95.3 Sithula and QFM Tamil, in a brief function held in Doha. 

The function was attended by Sumudu Wilpatha (Embassy’s Second Secretary), Rasika Jayasinghe (Consular - Employment & Welfare), and the Srilankan business and community leaders. 

Both the radios function under Qatar’s Ministry of Culture & Sports using Qatar Media Corporation’s transmission facilities.

QFM Sithula and QFM Tamil are broadcasted in Sinhalese and Tamil languages respectively. Both the stations primarily address the Srilankan expatriate community in Qatar. As the first Srilankan radio stations in Qatar, QFM acts as an effective communication platform for the messages from Qatar’s ministries and authorities, as well as the Srilankan Embassy in Qatar. Both the infotainment radios showcase an array of interesting and useful programs presented by reputed RJs, both on-air and online.

The official release of the station jingle, websites, marketing video, and social media pages were also done by the Second Secretary and the Consular (Employment & Welfare) at the Srilankan Embassy in Qatar, and the community leaders. The function was inaugurated by KC Abdul Latheef, the Vice Chairman of QFM and chaired by Anvar Hussain, the CEO. Community leaders who spoke at the function included Pantalion Perera, Hazim Hamza, Sanjeevan Vimalraj, Tenison De Silva and Rajeev Fernando. The function was anchored by RJs Akalanka, Samadhi, Sandy and Ashik.
