Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has urged vacationers heading out of Qatar during summer to follow a few simple steps to ensure a safe and secure trip.

It encouraged community members to check their electrical connections, unplug unnecessary appliances, and repair any damaged equipment before leaving home.

The Ministry advised those taking road trips to inspect the vehicle tyres, engine cooling system and electrical wiring to avoid roadside breakdowns.

In case of family trips with children, it suggested that one should never leave children unattended in a vehicle and should always keep them within sight in public places.

As a precautionary measure at swimming pools, the Ministry recommended that an adult should supervise children at all times. Additionally, the adult should ensure that children remain in age-appropriate swimming areas. Life jackets should be used when needed, it added.

The Ministry said it is imperative that one verifies booking links and the legitimacy of travel offers before any online booking, adding that personal or banking details should never be shared with untrusted parties.

Furthermore, the MOI reminded travellers to make sure their official documents are up to date before travelling, adding that all travel transactions can easily be completed through Metrash app.
