DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to the Vietnamese President Troung Tan Sang on his country’s National Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
DOHA: The Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah yesterday received a written message from his Singaporean counterpart K Shanmugam on relations between the two countries and means of promoting them.
The message was received by the Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani during a meeting with Singaporean Ambassador Wong Kok Bonn.
US, Japan ties discussed
Doha: The Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani yesterday held separate talks with US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith and Japanese Ambassador Shingo Tsuda.
Talks dealt with relations, cooperation and issues of mutual concern.
DOHA: Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), a charitable organisation under the aegis of the Indian embassy, in association with Atlas Polyclinic, is organising a free medical camp for low-paid workers on Friday at West End Park, Atlas Polyclinic, from 7am to 4pm.
ICBF’s 16th camp will provide consultations on orthopaedics, ophthalmology, dermatology and dental treatments as well as hypertension, diabetic and free medicines for more than 1,000 industrial and private workers living in the Industrial Area.
ICBF has started pre-registration of workers from labour camps.
On-the-spot registration will also be done on the day of the event for deserving patients.
A team of doctors (GP and specialists), paramedical staff and pharmacists from ATLAS Polyclinic will attend the camp, along with about 20 volunteers from Tulu Koota.
The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs H E Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al Khulaifi and Indian Ambassador Sanjiv Arora will inaugurate the camp. For details, contact Baby Kurian, Vice-President, ICBF, on 55515021.
