DOHA: No big real estate deals were concluded in the past week (August 24-28) as prices continue to be high.
Transaction details for the week released by the Ministry of Justice show that the biggest deal in terms of value was struck in Ummghuwailina.
A house admeasuring 15,356sqm was sold for QR90m, the rate per sqm being QR5,860.
The second largest deal was also for a house, in Doha’s Al Muntaza area (Raudat Al Khail). The 672-sqm dwelling was sold for QR23.5m, the per sqm rate being QR34,970. Most of 105 deals in the week were for plots for housing across the country.
Real estate prices remain so high that even in far-off places like Al Ruwais in the north plots were sold for QR2,000 or more per sqm. The total value of the deals in the week was QR514.13m.
