DOHA: Occidental Petroleum of Qatar (Oxy Qatar) has donated QR1,232,000 to Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) in support of its social and economic empowerment projects. The money will go to providing food vouchers to 54 needy families.
Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi, QRC Secretary General, praised the effort by Oxy Qatar and called on other companies to follow suit.
More than 10,000 people in Qatar benefited from QRC’s economic and social empowerment projects in 2012-2013.
Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager of Oxy Qatar, said Oxy Qatar was proud to continue its partnership with Qatar Red Crescent, providing support in the area of social and economic empowerment.
