Qatar, Sudan to boost military ties
Doha: The Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah yesterday met Sudanese Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Abdelrahim Mohammed Hussein. They also signed a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation.
Hussein said relations are witnessing further development, thanks to directives of both leaderships and their keenness to elevate them for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency, he said the MoU represents a significant step towards strengthening relations, especially between the two armed forces. He also highlighted Qatar’s stances in support of Sudanese issues and its initiatives for peace in Darfur.
