DOHA: Squire Patton Boggs has hired corporate law specialist Arnaud Montouché as an associate in its Doha office. M Montouché, who is licensed in Paris, California and New York, was previously the managing attorney for UGGC Avocats in Doha.
M Montouché, who has worked in the Middle East since 2011, acts for a wide range of international companies on corporate set up and restructuring in Qatar and across the GCC states, advising on commercial contracts, environmental compliance, real estate investment, construction, tax and IP issues, employment disputes, and pre-litigation strategies. He has worked with global companies in the utilities, oil and gas, engineering, manufacturing, defence and sport sectors. Prior to his move to the Gulf, Montouché worked in Paris where he advised French, European and international businesses on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and disputes.
Susan Bastress, office managing partner in Doha, said: “His knowledge of the Qatari market and his experience of advising a broad range of global businesses further expands our capabilities here. In particular Squire Patton Boggs now has a unique French law capability on the ground in Qatar, and Arnaud will also be working closely with our Paris office. Altogether we have significantly strengthened our Mena platform in servicing the needs of French companies operating in Qatar and throughout the Gulf, and in assisting Gulf clients with their legal needs in France.”
Arnaud Montouché commented: “I look forward to working with colleagues in Doha and around the firm to enhance our client service in this important market.” The Peninsula
