DOHA: Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, along with partners, will host students and their parents at the second Discover Education City event on November 5.
The recruitment event for higher education institutions provides participants with insight into academic offerings of HBKU’s partner universities and information about admissions processes and standardised testing procedures.
Earlier this year, the event attracted about 1,800 participants.
Representatives from universities in Education City will meet students and parents and respond to questions or concerns.
The event will be attended by HBKU, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, and Northwestern University in Qatar to offer students a wide range of perspectives.
Representatives of Academic Bridge Programme, QatarDebate, Qatar Career Fair, Reach Out To Asia, Bedaya Centre, British Council and higher education institute will also attend.
Khalifa Al Salahi, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator, HBKU, said, ‘This event is an opportunity for high school students to meet all universities in Education City in one setting. It is a chance for them to start thinking about their futures, what they want to pursue at university and what they need to do to get there.”
Representatives from HBKU will also be at the event to provide visitors with information relating to testing support, financial aid, scholarship and extracurricular activities provided by HBKU.
