Doha: Kannur United Welfare Association Qatar Chapter (Kuwaq), in association with Indian Cultural Center (ICC) Qatar, conducted 'Azdai Ka Amrith Mahotsavu' at ICC Ashoka hall commemorating 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The show was organised on the tag line 'Colours of India — a journey through the choreo musical heritage of India'. It proved to be remarkable in showcasing India’s rich legacy of art , precisely in dance and film music.
The event was attended by Dr. Seetharaman and Sangeetha Seetharaman as chief guests. Other attendees included ICBF President, Ziyadh Usman; ICC President P N Baburaj, Doha’s Renowned Otolaryngologist Dr. Mohan Thomas; Lulu Group Commercial Manager Chacko; along with Kuwaq President Muhammad Noushad Aboo, and General Secretary Vinod Vallikol.
The ceremony began with offering flowers in front of the re-creation of the monument Amar Jawan. After that, chief guest Dr. Seetharaman delivered a speech in which he mentioned the rapid spread of India’s culture and heritage to every nook and cranny of the world. He appreciated the efforts of Kuwaq in organising the programme paying homage to all the martyrs who sacrificed their life for India.
In this programme, the 8 prominent dance forms which Sangeetha Nakata Academy has recognised as the principal dance forms of India were performed in all their authenticity and pomp. Music concert that was conceived as a vital part of show led by Vinodh Nair as host, turned out to be exemplary by the selection of the songs and the presence of gifted singers from Doha.
The show drew to a close with a spectacular dance performance manifesting the theme ‘unity in diversity’. The programme was directed by Ratheesh Mathradan. Athira Arunlal did the choreography part.
