Doha: The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari has underscored that Qatar is sparing no effort to support the promotion of Arab music as an integral part of Arab culture as a whole including music, theatre, cinema, fine art and literature.
Speaking at a reception held for members of the Arab Society of Music, organised by Qatar Academy of Music at Katara yesterday, the Minister said that affluent Arab music needs special attention by all the institutions of Arab states to maintain it and convey it to the new generation, warning at the same time of the seriousness of today's generation being influenced by Western music and exotic cultures through means of social networking, the Internet, satellite channels and other technology means.
