Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia following the death of the mother of Prince Talal bin Mansour bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent a similar cable to King Abdullah.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a cable of condolences to the Saudi Monarch.
UAE President greeted on N-Day
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to the UAE President H H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his country’s National Day.
The Emir also held telephone talks with the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and congratulated the UAE leadership, government and people on National Day.

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held telephone talks with the Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam and reviewed means of enhancing relations.
Emir receives Sharif’s message
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday received a written message from Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on relations and issues of common interest. It was presented by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif when the Emir met him at the Emiri Diwan.
The Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah also met the Punjab Chief Minister and his delegation and discussed issues of common concern.
Arab-US team visits rights panel
Doha: Officials of National Human Rights Committee yesterday met a delegation of National Council for US-Arab relations, led by Dr John Duke Anthony.
The delegation was briefed on the panel’s terms of reference, objectives, administrative work, methods and approach of the Legal Affairs Department with regard to receiving petitions, direct or indirect, through the committee’s website.
Talks also dealt with cooperation on issues of common concern in all areas of human rights.
