Doha: Juventus FC and SSC Napoli will head to Doha for the prestigious Italian Super Cup match to be played at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on December 22.
Tickets for the match are available on the Qatar Football Association website: www.qfa.com.qa, it was announced yesterday.
The highly-anticipated match will off at 20:30. This will be the third time the two sides vie against for the annual title, after the 1990 and 2012 editions.
Napoli, Copa Italia Champions, and Serie A winners Juventus, will feature two of the best and most exciting rosters in the world, with more than 30 international capped players, led by the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain.
Khalid Al Kuwari said: “This hugely anticipated match will be a curtain raiser to welcome in the new year,” he said.
“What a way to set the stage for Qatar’s 2015 football calendar. It is an honour to host, not only two phenomenal teams competing for an esteemed trophy, but to also welcome some of football’s biggest names to take centre stage on our pitch,”he added.
Al Kuwari further said: “As our nation strives to be the most prominent sporting hub globally, the excitement and thrill of watching such talent helps nurture our local future stars and brings together our football family to celebrate and enjoy all that is great about football.”
There will be two ticket categories offered for fans on the QFA website – Grade A, worth QR300 and Grade B QR200. Tickets will also go on sale in Villagio from December 8. THE PENINSULA
