Doha: The ICC President along with the members of the recently formed ICC Photography Club under the aegis of the Indian Cultural Centre held a meeting on conducting the ‘ICC Photographer Of The Year 2020’ contest.
The objective of the event is to raise the popularity of the artistry of photography among the Indian expatriates in Qatar. The deadline for the event has been extended to December 7 and the results will be released on Qatar National Day.
The winners will be awarded and the winning photographs will be exhibited at the Ashoka Hall, ICC. The interested candidates can send the photographs at icc.photographer.2020@gmail.com.
The meeting discussed the various themes for the event: namely ‘Exploring Qatar’ which asks photographers to highlight the various architectural marvels, ‘Qatar expressions’ requesting the photographer to showcase the celebrations or lifestyle or sports within Qatar, and ‘Qatar events’ focusing on the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup and related events.
The themes also include ‘Back to nature’ which focuses on the breath-taking natural beauty of Qatar, ‘Indo-Qatar links’ conveying the growing bond and acceptance between the two communities through a series of photos (Picture should be taken in Qatar), and lastly, ‘Iconic structure’ a series of five images which portray the story about the significant architecture located in Doha.
The President and the members requested the community members to actively partake in the contest.
