Football fans had a gala time in Qatar as two European giants Real Madrid of Spain and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) clashed in a high-profile friendly match at Khalifa Stadium on Thursday evening. Most of the fans turned out in the club colours of their favourite team, with Real Madrid shirts outnumbering the PSG. Hawkers selling Real’s flags, shirts, scarves and other memorabilia did quick business outside the stadium. The most sought after shirts were of Real’s Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, followed by Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic of PSG, and team-mate Cavani Edinson of Uruguay. Real won 1-0 against Les Parisians. The Real-PSG match is one of the several blockbuster matches which Qatar have hosted in the last few years.
