Doha: MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch (MESIS), successfully organised Fun and Food Festival for charity as a part of its Qatar National Day 2022 celebrations.

The slogan of the event was “Our unity is our source of strength” spreading the message of unity, triumph and charity. Year of millets was also celebrated in collaboration with Qatar National Day celebrations.

The programme began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran which was followed by a plethora of cultural events showcasing the vivid culture of Qatari people which included speech in Arabic, Arabic dance and Arabic song that was presented with immense zeal and fervour.

The Food Festival, organised by the Qatar History Department was inaugurated by M C Mohammed, Cultural Director, MESIS Governing Board, accompanied by Principal Pramila Kannan.

To infuse the spirit of charity and benevolence, students and their parents were motivated to participate in the food festival and donate for charity. Parents and students participated by bringing foods of Qatari cuisine and food made of millets to celebrate the Year of Millets 2023.

The students participated enthusiastically and the food festival was a grand success. The entire amount collected from the food festival will be donated to Qatar Charity.
