Doha: The Permanent Emergency Committee, jointly with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), yesterday started a workshop on the management of emergencies, with the participation of 27 delegates from concerned government bodies, besides two delegates from Kuwait and Oman.
Experts in the field of crisis management and emergency will deliver lectures at the workshop that will continue until February 12.
The workshop aims to identify key aspects of emergencies whether natural disasters or not, and educate participants about international humanitarian law, international protection, principles and mechanisms of protection in cases of emergency, implementation of standards and key indicators of emergency, in addition to managing personal preparations for deployment during emergencies.
