MANILA, Philippines - Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs headed by Sen. Grace Poe on Wednesday announced the names of personalities it has invited for the congressional inquiry on the Mamasapano clash on February 9 and 10.
Sen. Teofisto "TG" Guingona III has proposed to create a "Mamasapano Truth Commission," but Poe decided to pursue a separate inquiry in response to the public's "quest" for reliable facts.
The investigation is geared towards collating relevant pieces of information with regard to the Mamasapano incident, determining accountability and providing a framework of reforms, all in aid of meaningful legislation to ensure that such tragedy will never happen again," Poe said in a statement.
The following names have confirmed their attendance to the Senate hearings next week:
