Doha: Airline leaders will assemble in Miami, Florida, for the 71st Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and World Air Transport Summit, IATA announced here yesterday.
IATA also announced that Calin Rovinescu, President and CEO of Air Canada, has assumed his duties as Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors for a one-year term, effective immediately. Rovinescu succeeds Richard H Anderson, CEO of Delta Air Lines, whose one-year term expired at the conclusion of the Association’s 70th AGM and World Air Transport Summit in Doha.
American Airlines, FedEx Express and UPS will co-host the events in Miami in conjunction with Airlines for America (A4A), the trade association for the US airline industry. The event will draw the top leadership from the air transport industry to Miami, Florida from June 7 to 9, 2015, IATA said.
Miami will host the IATA AGM for the first time. US is hosting it for the fifth time, following AGMs in Washington DC (2003), Honolulu (1971), New York (1955), and San Francisco (1950).
