Doha: OSN launched ‘Go’ recently in the region and the feedback from subscribers has been extremely positive. OSN is a pay television network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) that offers international television entertainment content such as movies, sporting events and various television series, both locally produced and international. Internet users across the region are expected to reach more than 400 million by 2015, and more than 200 million people in the region currently below the age of 25. In addition, coupled with the growing appetite for digitised entertainment, the potential for online television entertainment consumption seems to be tremendous. In order to register for Go by OSN the cost is $10 (QR36) per month; potential viewers must have a valid credit or debit card.
“Go by OSN is a premium product that provides exclusive, world-class content, found nowhere else. Content on Go by OSN is obtained through multiple studio deals, enabling us to provide the largest breadth of movies and television series for subscribers. This is the equivalent to tens of thousands of hours of premium content, contract and commitment free,” Emad Morcos (pictured), Senior Vice-President, Business Development and Digital of OSN told The Peninsula.
Morcos said Go by OSN offers users access to an unmatched repertoire of Arabic content, including OSN’s own Arabic productions, as well as a vast selection of more than 200 movies and the number will continue to grow. “We will also have a large variety of options for Ramadan catering to the wide tastes and preferences of the region.”
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, ‘Go by OSN’ will provide audiences with access to some of the most sought-after Arabic shows and movies. All shows will be available in their original format, while English content will be dubbed or subtitled in Arabic. “Go will offer unmatched content for children and families alike, with content from across the region including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the rest of the Gulf,” adds Morcos.
Content on Go by OSN is similar to what is offered on the OSN platform. Furthermore, there are ratings for all the shows, and the parental control option, which enables audiences to personalise their viewing experience.
