MES Indian School marks World No Tobacco Day

Doha: MES Indian School observed World No Tobacco Day on May 25 with the theme, ‘Protect the environment.’ 

Various activities were organised to emphasize the social responsibility of creating awareness with regard to health hazards caused by smoking and consuming tobacco.

A special assembly was conducted to observe the World No Tobacco Day wherein the students gave speeches in their respective classes followed by the students’ pledge. 

Students also presented PowerPoint Presentations, and songs raising awareness about the dangers of using tobacco. 

The event’s highlight was yoga, which is considered one of the workout regimes that might help one maintain better physical and mental health.Various competitions like poster designing, slogan writing, etc. were conducted to educate students about the hazardous effects of tobacco.

Addressing the students during the school assembly, the school Principal, Hameeda Kadar, urged the students to take up social responsibility, create awareness regarding the health hazards of smoking, fight against this evil practice, and lead a healthy life creating a tobacco-free world. Teachers in charge of the activities were Habeeb Rahman, Varsha Synesh, Vijayasharmila & Jency George.
